My 2018 reading list...so far
Earth Is Hiring by Peta Kelly
I find it hard to resume Peta Kelly's book in few sentences as it covers so much ground. Starting with establishing a good relationship with mother Earth and re-writing your story with money, this book will be changing your perception of success. It will also introduce you to the art of drinking cacao and that's definitely worth it!
Believe Me by Yolanda Hadid
This book is a gem. I think Yolanda Hadid is such an inspiration in the invisible illness community. Through all of her battles, she has been handling herself with so much class. This book is the recite of her diagnosis and her endless search for a cure for herself as well as for her kids. It also describes the toll that a chronic illness can have on a relationship and how it lead to her failed marriage. A true autoimmune warrior.
A Happier Hour by Rebecca Weller
I have started following Rebecca Weller from Sexy Sobriety a while ago when I challenged myself to stop drinking for a year. Her Instagram is full of alternative alcohol free recipes and many inspiring moments of her journey. Only a month ago I decided to order her book and it is definitely a treat to read! The words are flowing, it is sometimes funny and sometimes sad. Her story is compelling, it could just be you or me. I can see easily how she has inspired thousands of women across the globe to ditch the bottle.
Open Wide by Melissa Ambrosini
This second book by Melissa Ambrosini is using the same principle she used in her first book "Master your Mean Girl" but this time apply it to love, self-love and relationships. She is a definitely love guru in teaching ourselves to be love magnets and to always love ourselves first. It addresses both singles or couples and it is full of tips on how to reconnect through a healthy sex life.
Tears to Triumph by Marianne Williamson
Please do not read this book if your are feeling amazingly well. Tears to Triumph is to be read when you are having a really hard time and you are trying to understand the message behind the pain. Instead of running away from the pain and distract yourself, Marianne Williamson teaches you to take it all in, in order to understand it and to truly be able to move on.
The Clever Guts Diet by Dr Michael Mosley
Everything you need to know about your gut in one book. How your biome influences you and how you can influence it. There is no extreme dieting in this book. It is all about rebooting your microbiome with simple menu plan and a diary. I enjoy reading this kind of book as I am always eager to learn about auto-immune disease and how it is linked to the gut.
The Woman Who Fooled The World by Beau Bonnelly & Nick Toscano
I will never forget the day when Australia woke up to the news that cancer stricken Instagram famous Belle Gibson was actually faking it. Belle Gibson, mother of a 3 year old, had a nation crying for her over her terminal cancer diagnosis that she supposedly cured with a clean vegan diet. I read the book in 2 hours, I admit I was really curious to know more about the other side of this story but more than that it brought me back to one serious question: how credulous are we to follow people we do not know on Instagram? How can we follow the diet of someone we have never met? So many questions that still applies today.
Have you read any of them? What would you add to this list? Let me know. I would love to hear about great books recommendations!
