5 Easy Anti-Wrinkle tricks
You may have heard it all: skin is your largest organ, it absorbs everything, use organic products only, drink more water and eat your greens. Easier said than done. That is all very good advice but for some of us the damages to our skin has already been done a long time ago (smoking in your early twenties, baring it all and not wearing sunscreen...how rebellious!)
The good news is, it is never too late to start caring for your self and your skin. Here are five tricks to plump it back in no time and get asked for your ID again:
1. Sleep on a silk pillowcase. Silk pillowcases minimise skin creases and are a lot more gentle on your skin. Skin creases become wrinkles overtime so do not neglect them. They are also amazing for your hair especially if it is dry and curly like mine. Cotton draws moisture from your hair and skin while silk allows them to glide on it. I got mine from Slip. They have different colours to match your sheets. Give it a try!
2. Take a collagen booster. After 30 years old, collagen will be your best ally to grow old with a fresh skin. Glowy and wrinkle-free skin depends on collagen production.It's the thing that make your skin plump and if your collagen stash is reduced, wrinkles starts to appear. It is a great ally for strong nails and shiny hair. The one I use is from Bio Island.
3. Apply a vitamin C serum everyday and night. My favourite is from Mad Hippie.
I have noticed changes just few weeks after I started using it. Vitamin C promote collagen production and is also great to help protecting your skin from damaging UVA and UVB rays. Vitamin C is a winner at reducing any sort of inflammation on your skin which will speed up healing for scars, acne or small cuts. Bonus!
4. Cut out sugar and processed foods: first, sugar triggers inflammation and we don't really need anymore of that. Second, it makes you lose collagen and elastin, the two proteins you need to keep your skin wrinkle free! Processed food are full of sugar, always try to do your own home cooked meal so you know what's on your plate.
5. Drink water, a lot of water, even more water than that. Just google before and after pictures of people that have increased their water intake for a few days and see the difference after few days. What else? Water will flush toxins, increase circulation, prevent under eye bags. It is also much cheaper that a new face cream!
