The ten books that changed my life

The 10 books that changed my life

Hi wellness lovers!

I have made a list of the ten books that helped me on my wellness journey!

1 / "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay

I have discovered Louise Hay five years ago when I was in so much pain I could not work. I could not afford a book either at that time so I read it at the library. I went there for a week and enter a whole new world, Louise Hay's world. I laughed and I cried, I realized what self-love was all about. I could make peace with my past, stop blaming everyone for my problems and most of all be happy! It is not a magic recipe, it does not happen overnight but if you practice her wise words everyday, your thoughts will start to change, something will shift within you and it will be the start of a whole new you.

Since then, I have read most of her books and the audio book " You can heal your life" is playing on repeat on my ipod. When I went on a road trip in the states few month ago, I planned a killer road trip playlist but the only thing my partner and I ended up listening to was Louise Hay and her voice.... and it was amazing!

2 / "Spirit Junkie" by Gabrielle Bernstein

"Spirit junkie" is one big spiritual life lesson. Like Louise Hay's book, it helped me to find alternative way to heal like meditation and positives affirmation. It is also a good introduction to the principles of "A course in miracles" which is next on my reading list!

3 / "The brain That Changes Itself" by Norman Doidge

This one was recommended by my GP to help understand the crazy pain that reigns in my body and more especially how someone can still feel debilitating pain after an injury that has been healed years ago. It gave me a better understanding of neuroplasticity, how pain gets triggered and how the brain can rewire itself and change its own structure and function. It is full of success stories about retraining the brain for a better health.

4 / "The Gerson Therapy" by Charlotte Gerson

One of my favorite health books. . The Gerson therapy is based on the human body's remarkable ability to regenerate and heal itself when it is given nutrient dense foods. It is how I discovered coffee enemas and juice fasting. Both have still amazing results on me when I have a flare-up. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to improve their health with food.

5 / "No Grain, No Pain" by Dr. Peter Osborne

I was very interested to read this book as it strongly reminded me of the principles of the non-starch diet I have tried few years ago, which is known to be very effective on auto-immune disease like spondyloarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. In this book, Dr. Peter Osborne explains how grains wreak havoc on the body by causing tissue inflammation, triggering an autoimmune response that causes the body to attack itself. If you are suffering from chronic pain and are ready to take the next step, read this book!

6 / "Allen Carr Easy Way To Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr

I read it twice and stopped smoking 5 years ago.  I think it says it all.

7 / "Women Who Runs With The Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkolla Estes

Through myth and tales, Dr Estes shows how women can reconnect with the wild women within them and free themselves of society expectations. I read this book when I was struggling with a nasty break up, it was the guidance I needed to rediscover myself as a feminine, strong and powerful soul. This book is a divine intervention to know where you are going and why. It is a great reminder on the importance of growing into ourselves and trusting our intuitions.

8 / "Make Peace With Your Plate" by Jessica Ainscough

The book in itself was maybe not a life changer as such but discovering her blog was. It did not make me at peace with my plate, but it made me discover what inner peace was. Her approach to wellness massively helped me come to terms with my disease. You will find in her book so many of her tips and tricks that I am still using today as it improve the symptoms and pain of my psoriatic arthritis. It is a shame our world has lost such a beautiful soul.

9/ "The Four Agreements : A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom" by Don Miguel Ruiz

“Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best.” The four agreements of Don Miguel Ruiz should be the base of the relationship you hold with yourself and with others. It made me realize how powerful words can be and how quick we are to interpret or misinterpret them. This book provides guidance to re-focus on your life perspective. It is a short and easy read but very powerful.

10/ "Mastering Your Mean Girl" by Melissa Ambrosini

Last but not least, that brand new release from Melissa Ambrosini is a game-changer. It is empowering and kicks ass to all the negative thoughts in your head.  It gave me the last drop of self-confidence I needed to get working on my business.

And what about you? Let me know in the comments which books changed your life?
