Minimize your life
After experiencing major changes in my life in 2016, I spent the last 6 months with 5 years of my life packed in storage and just few suitcases with me and guess what? I was not missing much of my stuff!
I moved into a new place this weekend and I am going through boxes full of stuff I don't need.
Like seriously, who needs three umbrellas? Have I ever used a sewing kit? Will I ever wear that old pair of prescription glasses? NO NO AND NO!
I am trying to apply the Marie Kondo's method from the famous book "The Life Changing Art of Tidying Up" and I have to agree it is a great help. I have not read all the book at once but every time I encounter an item that I do not know what to do about, I 'll find the right chapter and deal with it appropriately. Thank you Marie Kondo for making my life less of a mess!
I am craving a place where everything is organised and easy to find. Have a simple life so I can surround myself with what really matter!
I have also been given for Christmas a book called "The life-changing magic of not giving a fuck" by Sarah Knight, because once you have cleared-up the mess around you, you also have to cut down on the bullshit. Sarah's motto is "Stop spending time you don't have doing things you don't want with people you don't like" and the best way to do that is to learn how to say no.
I am not especially a people pleaser but I always feel bad to tell people I do not want to go out to that party. Firstly because the main reason is my body is tired and I do not have enough energy to socialize. I do not like to justify myself and to explain why I am sick so sometimes I just force myself. Being in a situation I do not want to be in is not going to make me happy so I am now standing up for myself and politely declining the invitation. I know some people might find me a bit rude but at the end of the day if they can't understand my situation, I am better without them!
So my motto for 2017 is DECLUTTER your house and your relationship for a happier life!
Have you read those books? Let me know what you think in the comment section.
